START BODY OF OCTOPUS
- ch 12, work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next, 1 hdc in each of next 3, 1 dc in each of next 2, 1 hdc in each of next 2, 1 sc in last, ch 2, turn
- work 1 hdc in each of next 2, 1 dc in each of next 4, 1 hdc in each of next 2, 1 sc in next, 1 hdc in end, ch 2, work 1 hdc in same
- now rotate work so that you will start working on the opposite side of the starting chain, work 2 dc in first ch, 1 dc in each of next 5, 1 hdc in each of next 3, 1 dc in end, 1 hdc in the post of the end stitch, 1 sc in next, 1 hdc in corner.
- you will now be on the oppostie side, working around in a circle.
- work 2 sc in next, 1 hdc in each of next 3, 2 hdc in next, 1 sc in each of next 3, 1 sl st in each of next 3
DO NOT CUT YARN, YOU WILL NOW WORK THE TENTACLES
-ch 18, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 5, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, join with sl st to body of octopus, in the same stitch you started working the 18 ch.
-ch 30, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in each of next 17, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, join to body
-ch 21, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 7, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in each of next 5, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, join to body
-ch 16, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in each of next 4, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, join
-ch 10, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 2, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in each of next 2, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, join, CUT YARN
MAKE ONE MORE TENTACLE
- ch 42, 1 sc in each of next 2, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in each of next 12, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, cut yarn.
-sew this tentacle to the body of your octopus, inbetween the first and second tentacle.
MAKE NECKLACE LOOP
- chain as many sts as will fit around your head, sew to top of octopus and wear with pirate pride!!
