i also am waiting on a pair of eyeglasses, will come in this week… got my eyes checked for the first time in 15 YEARS!!   i need em for driving especially… they’re really funky which will make me wear them

and did you see that Amy Secrest has stuff  for sale in pixelgirlshop?   i love that store..   there is also a cute cute cute! section that has to be seen….

and I HAVE to make one… maybe i’ll do it on vacation

oh yeah!   we’re leaving for vacation on Saturday, a week up at Rangeley lake in Maine, same place we went to last year… it’s gonna be a ton of fun, the whole family, yay!

to start the holiday knitting season i thought i would start with the teeny sweaters... here is the first one, made from thin wool yarn direct from Sweden, from a secret pal gift package last year... didnt use a pattern, just did a top down raglan thing

and i purchased these knitting needles at a funky used/antique store in Bridgewater MA… they only had one of each, but they were just so weird i had to get them…. two of them are steel or something…

and below is my new slinky favorite scarf!!!

Jessica picked the Westin Columbus, which was an awesome hotel… and the bed was so great, soft sheets and pillows, two down comforters… a nice bed makes a stay in a hotel a bit more comfy..

we had a layover on the way over, two planes, two takeoffs, two landings… BUT we got to see the tops of severe thunderstorm clouds!! how effin cool is that?!?!  

dont have any photos of the TNNA show.. you weren’t allowed to bring in cameras (although i have seen some photos around the internet, i should have been more brave i suppose… i’m a chicken when it comes to “breaking the law”)

huh huh what?! yup! signed books galore! i got to meet Teva Durham, Melanie Falick and you-know-who of Yarn Harlot! i also met the gorgeous girl of Purls Beyond Price

i had to go into Providence to plead “insanity” on a parking ticket…   the ticket was dismissed, and i went to my favorite little toy store afterwards… and got this cell phone charm!!!

LIFE: my bf got a new job in the city and it’s pretty lonely around here without him… but josie is keeping me company.. OH!   i’ve never felt so old before, my sciatic nerve is acting up!   what the heck?   i’m not 30 yet!   (13 months to go)   at least it’s not a hand cramp, now that i couldn’t live with…   i went to Kennebunk Maine the other day with my mom to drop off a pastel painting of hers that was accepted into a show… what a cute little town… we had sweet potato fries, YUM!   and i nearly finished the back of my cardigan during the car ride…

nice lacework on US 3 needles… i started with stockinette and did some yarn overs… then a wave-like pattern at the top…

aha!   more crochet, who would have guessed… i hadn’t yet used the Blue Sky Organic Cotton, oh my god, its a dream….

i’ve never knit/crocheted with a cotton so buttery soft… this is Organic Cotton from Blue Sky, and the new colored cotton…

which i now realize i don’t have respectable silverware, or even a dining room table to take a suitable photo… hahaha

anyways….

AND oh, my “little” brother (25) is moving to Arizona!   no!!!   he’s the first sibling to move out of the state… our family is very close, not creepy close, not like we have to live near eachother to survive, but we do enjoy eachothers company on a regular basis… it’ll be hard to see him go, but he’s gonna have a blast!   he’s going to Arizona State, and he has been thinking of moving there for a while now… i’m looking forward to flying out there and visiting, never been to Arizona… i’ll miss having him around, but i know he’s gonna love it!
